PETER WYNN WILLIAMS -
Investment Director, The Henley Group
Trapped Bears
Peter will briefly update us about important developments
in the battle to stamp out the scourge of alleged manipulation of
the Comex gold and silver futures markets in New York. Expunging
manipulation should allow prices to rise closer to their natural
levels.
SIMON LIU - Investment
Research Manager, The Henley Group
The Psychology Behind Investment Decisions
Simon will cover the psychology of investing and common
mental traps such as overconfidence and risk perceptions which
often get in the way of investment success. He suggests it would be
much easier to achieve our financial goals if we are aware of our
cognitive biases and have the discipline to avoid costly mistakes
prompted by our gut instincts.
VERONICA CHENG - AVP,
Deutsche Asset Management (Hong Kong) Ltd
Overcoming Global Inefficiencies in Feeding the World
Will we have enough food to feed the world? The UN reckons
that with world population set to reach 9 billion, global demand
for food, feed and fibre will nearly double while supply will be
constrained by the use of crops for biofuels and other industrial
purposes. At least US$60 billion in new investments annually will
be needed to meet future food requirements.
Learn about companies across the agribusiness supply chain,
including those in land and plantation, seed and fertilizer,
planting, harvesting, protecting and irrigation, processing and
manufacturing. Veronica will also address the impact of spiraling
food prices, global forces for change, supply shocks, meat demand
and changing diets and the potential for future drivers of
famine.
